Grant opportunity · Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection
Food Truck Generator Electrification Pilot
$5,000 – $10,000 per award
About this opportunity
Montgomery County's Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) provides cash incentives and zero-interest financing to help mobile food service businesses replace gasoline- or diesel-powered generators with battery power systems. The program is funded by a grant from the Maryland Energy Administration (MEA). Replacing fuel generators saves businesses thousands of dollars in fuel and maintenance costs, reduces carbon emissions equivalent to removing 4 cars from the road, and cuts noise and air pollution for employees and customers. Cash incentives are based on the battery capacity of the installed system, and optional zero-interest financing is available through Climate First Bank in partnership with Montgomery County Green Bank.
