About this opportunity

The Maryland Green Schools Award Program recognizes Maryland schools that include environmental education in their curricula, model best environmental management practices at the school, and address community environmental issues. Schools complete an application documenting their program and activities over a two-year period. A review panel evaluates applications and an award celebration is held each spring. Certification is administered through the Maryland Association for Environmental and Outdoor Education (MAEOE). The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) supports participating schools by providing natural resources staff to assist with tree plantings, teacher training in Projects WET, WILD, and Learning Tree, waste/energy/water audits, small grants for aquatic-based school…
