Marine Sewage Pumpout Facility Grants

About this opportunity

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) reimburses marinas for the purchase and installation of marine sewage pumpout facilities. Funding is also available for pumpout operations, maintenance, upgrades, and replacements of existing sewage pumpout stations. Annual grants are also available to cover operations and maintenance costs of existing stations. The program gives boaters a proper method of disposing of sewage, contributing to cleaner Maryland waters. It is funded 75% by the federal Clean Vessel Act and 25% by the Maryland Waterway Improvement Fund. Marinas must pay for equipment upfront and then submit paperwork for reimbursement. Some county permit fees for first-time installations are also reimbursable.
