About this opportunity

The Maryland Affordable Housing Trust (MAHT) promotes affordable housing for households earning less than 50% of area or statewide median income. Created by the Maryland General Assembly in 1992 and governed by a Board of Trustees, it is managed by the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development. MAHT funds capital costs of rental and ownership housing, provides financial assistance for nonprofit-developer capacity building, funds supportive services for occupants of affordable housing, and covers operating expenses of affordable housing developments. The program is funded by a portion of the interest generated by title company escrow accounts.
