Kinship Care Program
Award amount varies
About this opportunity
Maryland's Kinship Care program supports relative caregivers (such as grandparents, aunts, uncles, and adult siblings) who provide full-time care for children who cannot live with their parents. The program helps preserve family ties by connecting caregivers and children with financial assistance, health coverage, food assistance, child care, and other benefits. There are two tracks: Formal Kinship Care (child is in state custody but placed with a relative) and Informal Kinship Care (parent voluntarily placed the child with a relative, no state custody required). Caregivers related by blood or marriage within five degrees may qualify.
