About this opportunity
The Next Generation Scholars of Maryland (NGS) Program is a college access program established by the Maryland General Assembly in 2016 (HB 1403). It supports low-income, first-generation students in high-poverty school systems by providing a cohort-based model of mentoring, support, and college guidance beginning as early as 7th or 8th grade through high school graduation and into the first year of college. Grants are awarded to nonprofit organizations to provide these services to cohort students who pre-qualify for the Guaranteed Access Grant in eligible high-poverty school districts across Maryland, including Allegany County, Baltimore City, Caroline County, Dorchester County, Kent County, Prince George's County, Somerset County, and Wicomico County Public Schools.
