About this opportunity
The Maryland State Department of Education distributes bonuses to child care programs participating in Maryland EXCELS, the state's Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS). Programs earn bonuses when they publish a quality rating for the first time or re-publish a quality rating of 4 or 5. Bonuses range from $1,000 to $13,500 based on program type (child care center, family child care, or large family home), quality rating level (1–5), and, for centers, licensed capacity. No application is required — eligible programs automatically receive payment by check or direct deposit within approximately 60 days of publishing a qualifying rating. Funding comes from the Blueprint for Maryland's Future legislation.
