The Maryland Criminal Intelligence Network (MCIN) program is a coalition of criminal justice agencies that collaborates and coordinates tactics, resources, and intelligence through data sharing, cross-jurisdictional partnerships, and supporting technologies. MCIN focuses on identifying, disrupting, and dismantling gangs and violent criminal networks involved in drug distribution, firearms violence, human trafficking, and other violent criminal enterprises. Funding is used to improve intelligence infrastructure, support information-collection strategies, employ subject matter experts, and pay for expert prosecutors to handle cases at the federal and state levels.
