About this opportunity
The Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) provides free fresh fruits and vegetables to children at eligible Maryland elementary schools and residential child care institutions during the school day. The program promotes nutrition education about the fruits and vegetables served, with the goals of introducing children to new and different varieties of fresh produce and increasing overall consumption of fresh, unprocessed produce among young children. Funding is provided to eligible schools and residential child care institutions to encourage children to eat more fresh fruits and vegetables. In School Year 2022–2023, 196 Maryland schools participated in the program.
