About this opportunity

Maryland taxpayers can donate to the Chesapeake Bay and Endangered Species Fund by entering an amount on line 35 of their state income tax Form 502. Donations are split evenly between Bay restoration grants administered by the Chesapeake Bay Trust and rare species programs run by the Wildlife and Heritage Service at the Maryland Department of Natural Resources. Donations support habitat research, stream cleanups, tree plantings, monitoring, and protection of rare, threatened, and endangered species and plants. The donation is 100% tax deductible the following year.
