The Maryland State Disaster Recovery Fund (SDRF) provides disaster-related financial assistance to communities affected by disasters. It has three main objectives: (1) Assistance to Individuals and Households — financial support to local jurisdictions for immediate needs and short-term recovery of affected residents; (2) Small Business Loans — financial assistance to small businesses for economic recovery; and (3) Assistance to Local Governments — financial assistance to local governments for eligible disaster response and recovery costs, with priority given to debris cleanup. SDRF is a last-resort fund and may not supplant other funding sources, though it may be used as matching funds after a federal disaster declaration.
