Award amount varies
About this opportunity
Formula-based grants awarded annually to Maryland public schools that serve large concentrations of students living in poverty. Schools use the grants to hire a Community School Coordinator and a Healthcare Practitioner (personnel grants) and to fund wraparound services such as extended learning time, health services, mental health support, and food access (per-pupil grants). These grants are part of the Blueprint for Maryland's Future legislation and are used to establish and operate community schools. In SY 2025-2026, 720 schools serving 418,756 students participate, with 70.1% of students receiving free and reduced-price meals.
