The Agricultural Cost Share Reimbursement (ACRE) Program provides matching grant cost-share assistance to farmers for agricultural business projects that improve, expand, and increase the profitability of their agricultural enterprise. Eligible projects include deer fencing, agricultural wells, vertical racks for microgreens, farm equipment and tools, hydroponics equipment, aquaponics equipment, and refrigeration. The farmer must pay at least half of the total project cost. The lifetime maximum per farm or farmer is $15,000, and the annual total for all Montgomery County projects is $25,000 per fiscal year. A single agricultural enterprise may apply up to twice per fiscal year. Applicants must receive approval before making any purchases or beginning any phase of the project.
