The Maryland Community Health Resources Commission (CHRC) awards competitive grants annually to expand access to affordable, high-quality health care services in underserved communities across Maryland. Since its creation in 2005, the CHRC has awarded over 1,044 grants totaling $499 million, serving programs in every Maryland jurisdiction. The program was re-authorized by the Maryland General Assembly in 2024 until June 2035. The FY 2026 round made $7 million available (with $7.5 million ultimately awarded to 14 grantees); the RFA was released March 6, 2026, with applications due April 23, 2026, and the CHRC received 101 applications requesting over $66.6 million in funding.
