The Shore Erosion Control (SEC) Program provides technical and financial assistance to landowners, communities, local governments, and businesses for completing structural and non-structural shore erosion control projects along the Chesapeake Bay, coastal bays, and their tributaries. The program funds vegetative (living shoreline) and structural erosion control projects to prevent sediment loss, reduce pollution, and protect shorelines. Matching grants are available for private landowners (45/55 match, where the program pays 45%) and public land protection projects (75/25 match, where the program pays 75%).
