HoCo EXCEL is Howard County's Nonprofit Excelerator Program, launched in February 2024, that provides training, coaching, and funding to help Howard County nonprofits build their capacity to become high-performing organizations. The program has two components: (1) a sector-wide Training Program with interactive, experiential sessions open to all nonprofit organizations in Howard County, and (2) a Capacity-Building Cohort that offers intensive, multi-year support to a cohort of up to five nonprofits, including annual operating grants ($20,000 in Year 1, $20,000 in Year 2, and $15,000 in Year 3), organizational assessments, customized action plans, one-on-one coaching, and other individualized resources over a three-year period.
