About this opportunity
An Extended Education Scholarship program for active members of St. Mary's County Volunteer Fire Departments, Rescue Squads, or Advance Life Support Units. Awards support courses leading to a certificate, diploma, or other evidence of qualification from a recognized post-secondary educational facility. Award amount is determined by the number of credit hours planned, cost per credit hour, and a properly submitted application. Reimbursement equals the lesser of the scholarship award or actual cost, limited to a maximum of 36 credit hours per year. Payment is processed after satisfactory course completion (minimum 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale) and grade verification. Applications are submitted to the St. Mary's County Department of Emergency Services for consideration.
