About this opportunity

The Criminal Injuries Compensation Board (CICB) provides financial compensation to innocent victims of crime in Maryland. The Board compensates victims who suffer physical injury for medical expenses and lost earnings, and may cover psychological counseling or lost wages for psychological injuries resulting from certain offenses. In homicide cases, the Board may assist with funeral expenses and loss of financial support for the victim's dependents. CICB is the payer of last resort — all other available reimbursement sources must be exhausted first. A minimum of $100 in unreimbursed costs is required to qualify. Emergency and supplemental awards are also available. The program also serves DUI crash victims and persons injured while preventing a crime or assisting a police officer.
