About this opportunity
The Maryland Schoolyard Forests Program helps public schools use their campuses as places for outdoor learning, native tree planting, and long-term stewardship. The program supports two related goals: helping Maryland plant and maintain more native trees, and helping schools connect environmental literacy with hands-on learning. It provides campus planning, technical support, hands-on training, educational opportunities, community engagement events, youth career exploration experiences, and microgrants to help schools transform their grounds into healthier, more inviting environments — increasing shade and comfort, integrating nature-based learning, and advancing toward Maryland Green School certification.
