About this opportunity
The Weatherization Assistance Program helps low-income households in Baltimore City reduce energy expenses by installing energy conservation materials and products. Free services include energy audits, safety testing and repair of heating and cooling systems, attic insulation, air sealing, LED lighting, carbon monoxide and smoke alarms, and Energy Star appliance replacement when existing appliances are inoperable or inefficient. Assistance may also include grants and forgivable loans (forgiven after 5 years if the property is maintained as primary residence) or deferred loans (due when property is sold). Available for both owner-occupied and tenant-occupied properties. After work is completed, a Quality Control Inspection ensures all measures meet program guidelines.
