The Innovative Technology Fund, administered by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources' Watershed & Climate Services in partnership with the University of Maryland's Maryland Industrial Partnership Program (MIPS) and Mtech Ventures, provides capital funding to Maryland companies, organizations, and University of Maryland System personnel developing innovative technologies to accelerate Chesapeake Bay restoration. The program funds projects focused on reducing non-point source nutrients (nitrogen, phosphorus), sediment, and other pollutants in the Chesapeake Bay, including carbon mitigation, biofuel, and wastewater treatment technologies, as well as green job creation.
