Sewerage Facilities Supplemental Assistance Grant Program

About this opportunity

Provides grant funding to local governmental entities for planning, design, and construction of sewerage and wastewater facility improvements needed to address high-priority public health or water quality problems. The program supplements water quality loan programs, particularly when affordability is a concern. Awards are primarily targeted at small and disadvantaged communities, are capped at $1.5 million, and are based on system size, compliance status, and affordability. A local match is required. Applications are accepted December 1 through January 31 each year and will reopen in December 2026.
