About this opportunity

Maryland EXCELS is a Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS) for early childhood, public prekindergarten, and school-age child care programs in Maryland. Programs participate voluntarily or are required to participate if they accept Child Care Scholarship reimbursement. Participating providers receive an official quality rating from 1 to 5 based on standards in developmentally appropriate practice, professional development, and family engagement. The program provides a road map, training, professional development resources, and incentives to help providers improve their practices, along with guidance from a regional Quality Assurance Specialist (QAS), an assigned Program Coordinator, and a local Child Care Resource and Referral Center.
