Federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Part B grant program administered by the Maryland State Department of Education, Division of Special Education. Each Maryland local education agency (LEA) and public agency (PA) receiving federal IDEA Part B funds must develop and submit an annual Local Application for Federal Funds (LAFF) documenting how federal funds will be spent to support special education programs and services, to provide a free appropriate public education (FAPE) for children and students with disabilities. Funds are available under IDEA Part B Sections 611 (ages 3–21, school-age) and 619 (preschool).
