About this opportunity
The Douglas J.J. Peters Veterans of Afghanistan and Iraq Conflicts Scholarship (VAIC) provides financial assistance to U.S. Armed Forces personnel who served in the Afghanistan or Iraq Conflicts, and their eligible family members (son, daughter, stepson, stepdaughter, or spouse), to attend a Maryland postsecondary institution as undergraduate students. Applicants may be current high school seniors, or full-time or part-time degree-seeking undergraduates. Awards do not have to be repaid. Renewal recipients receive priority over new applicants, and eligible veterans receive priority over dependents or spouses. Awards supplement federal education benefits and may not exceed cost of attendance. Recipients may renew for up to 4 years of full-time enrollment or 8 years of part-time enrollment.
