About this opportunity

St. Mary's County offers a range of incentives to recruit and retain volunteers at its fire departments, rescue squads, and Advanced Life Support unit. Incentives include college scholarship programs, a length of service award program, a dependent care reimbursement program, and a Maryland State tax incentive after three years of service. Training to become a certified firefighter or EMT is provided at no cost through a partnership with the St. Mary's County Board of Education and Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute. A Fire and E.M.S. Cadet Program is also available for high school juniors and seniors.
