The Postharvest Infrastructure Grant Program (PHI) provides funding to establish cold storage infrastructure in Maryland rural communities to expand food aggregation and distribution capacity. Administered through the federally funded Maryland Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP), the program supports agricultural producers, seafood processors, nonprofits, local governments, and institutions in improving the cold chain and distribution process, ultimately increasing access to nutritious, locally sourced food for rural Marylanders.
