The Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) program provides competitive grants to eligible organizations to create community learning centers that offer students academic enrichment opportunities and services that complement their regular academic program during non-school hours or periods when school is not in session. Programs must reinforce and complement regular school-day instruction, target students' academic needs, and provide families with opportunities for active and meaningful engagement in their children's education, including literacy instruction and related educational development programs.
