The Coastal Resilience Program, housed within DNR's Center for Coastal and Ocean Planning, helps Maryland's coastal communities address short- and long-term coastal hazards such as high tide flooding, storm surge, sea level rise, and erosion. The program connects local government staff and partners to financial assistance, technical assistance, training opportunities, and supportive information, tools, visualizations, resources, and networks to build community resilience and foster healthy ecosystems, communities, and economies resilient to coastal hazards. Technical assistance includes sea level rise planning guidance and nuisance flood plan compliance support under Maryland HB 1427 (2019).
