About this opportunity

The Façade Improvement Grant (FIG) provides matching reimbursement funds to help business owners and property owners in Baltimore City make exterior building upgrades that improve the look and feel of commercial and industrial areas. Eligible properties include commercial buildings, vacant and corner commercial properties, industrial properties, and shopping centers. Eligible improvements include building façades, storefronts, signage, awnings, exterior paint, windows/doors, lighting, and other approved exterior enhancements. Grants must be approved before work begins and are reimbursed after the project is complete. Multiple FIG options exist depending on property type, and awards are subject to available funding at BDC's sole discretion.
