About this opportunity
The Maryland Energy Administration (MEA) offers grants to Maryland counties, cities, towns, and other Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) to help cover costs associated with implementing the free-to-use NREL SolarAPP+ automated residential solar permitting software. The 2024 Brighter Tomorrow Act requires Maryland local jurisdictions to adopt automated solar permitting software, and MEA has determined that the NREL SolarAPP+ platform meets those requirements. Up to $3,900,000 in federal funding is available through the State Energy Program (SEP) Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) formulaic award.
