The Public Assistance (PA) Program provides supplemental federal grant funding to state agencies, local governments, and certain private non-profit organizations to support response and recovery activities following a Presidentially-declared disaster. Grants cover the repair, replacement, or restoration of disaster-damaged, publicly owned, and uninsured facilities. Funding is provided on a 75% federal / 25% applicant cost-share basis. The program helps alleviate the financial burden on state and local governments and eligible non-profit organizations following federally-declared disasters.
