A statewide Maryland initiative operated by the Maryland Department of Health that provides free removal of lead hazards from homes, apartments, or day care settings for families with a child who has been exposed to lead, as well as in-home case management services to reduce lead exposure and asthma triggers. The program covers the full cost of lead hazard remediation — including lead removal and minor home repairs necessary to ensure lead paint remains properly sealed in homes built before 1978 — at no cost to the family or property owner. In-home visits are delivered through local health departments in participating counties. The program targets children 18 years old or younger who have elevated blood lead levels and live in Maryland, and are enrolled in or eligible for Medicaid/CHIP.…
