The Maryland School-Based Health Center Program supports comprehensive primary, acute, and preventative health services — including chronic condition management, mental health, and other health services — delivered to students, families, and communities through clinics physically located on or near school campuses. There are currently 91 active school-based health centers across 16 jurisdictions in Maryland. The program helps organizations open and operate school-based health centers (SBHCs), with a focus on increasing health access in underserved communities and improving student health and educational outcomes.
